Are you looking for a low sodium taco seasoning to replace the taco packets you find in the store? Read on for a simple and easy way to make your own at home. I bet you have most of the ingredients in your spice cabinet so this will also save you some cash!

Why Low Sodium Taco Seasoning?

Many taco seasoning packets that you find in the grocery store are loaded with sodium. Some have as much as 380 mg of sodium in a 2 teaspoon serving. In fact, tacos are one of the top 10 sources of sodium in a typical American diet.

A food item is considered low sodium if it has 140 mg of sodium or less per serving.

Some taco seasoning packets also have added potassium, which some people with chronic kidney disease need to limit.
